Launch of Philips Powerlife and Fashion Show

Last night October 20, 2011, we got up close as Philips unveils POWERLIFE at The Establishment, Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City Taguig. They've started the program with a fashion show, featuring the designs of the Fashion Institute of the Philippines. We were expecting to see Ryuji Shiomitsu on the runway (What on earth did we eat to think of that? haha) but later on discovered that he styled the models backstage.

 Favorite Cape and Coat Pair!

Male model on the runway. They have these tube-like weird shoulder details.

Fashion bloggers Lissa Kahayon and Vern Enciso (so pretty) were also present at the event. Keigh Jalbuena was supposed to be there too, sayang I wasn't able to meet her in person! Last time, we won passes for the Mega Most Beautiful event but we didn't see each other. Well, next time :)

After the fashion show, Philips introduces their newest product, Philips PowerLife Iron GC2900 Range. It sports a premium SteamGlide soleplate for easy and effective gliding across all fabrics, which they used for ironing all the clothes showcased at the show.

Whether ironing clothes for a fashion show, a formal evening function, or just a casual outing, fashionistas can now achieve that immaculate fresh off-the-runway look with the Philips PowerLife Iron GC2900 range. Designed to make ironing as fast and effective as possible, the PowerLife Iron GC2900 range instantly removes creases with a strong steam output for faster, more effective results, while its premium soleplate allows for easy gliding across all fabrics like silk, jersey, satin, pina, organza or plain cotton.

This perfect tool works for those who want to quickly remove unsightly wrinkles from their clothes and at the same time, care for their garments. With a steam boost of up to 110g/min and a continuous steam output of up to 35g/min, the iron easily removes creases to deliver a smooth and wrinkle-free garment, perfect even for the runway.

“We partnered with Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP) for the launch of the PowerLife GC2900, as we wanted to showcase how this practical and versatile iron works effectively across all fabrics. Whatever occasion you may be looking to dress up for, this handy tool will be able to help press your clothes effectively,” said Angelia Oh, Commercial Leader for Philips Consumer Lifestyle.

“As the global leader in the market for irons, we understand what consumers are looking for when it comes to garment care. Our irons combine all the research and technological innovation to deliver a solution that can help users achieve immaculately pressed clothes across even the most difficult or complicated fabrics. More importantly, it also cares for the clothes in the longer term,” added Oh.

Armed with up to 2200 watts of power, the PowerLife Iron GC2900 range ensures a constant high steam output to ensure that the steam penetrates through the layers of fabric, effectively delivering fast and good results. It sports a premium, non-stick SteamGlide soleplate which heats quickly and evenly, allowing for easy gliding on all fabrics. The soleplate also comes with large and small steam vents to ensure an even steam distribution so that clothes get more steam, all over. The even heat distribution helps to ensure that clothes do not get burn marks, and that clothes are ironed more quickly and gently, thus helping to preserve the wardrobe.

“Professional steam irons is a secret for all fashion designers and Philips has once again made a mark in offering an easy to use and advance steam iron that make sense and is designed for those who need the very best in garment care technology. In our industry, it is all about the fastest and smoothest ironing results and Philips has achieved this,” said Shannon Pamaong, founder and director of Fashion Institute of the Philippines.

For those who may be afraid that the steam droplets may stain their garments, the iron also has a Drip-stop system to help you iron delicate fabrics at low temperatures without having to worry about stains from water droplets. Its calc clean slider also helps to remove scale out of the iron to ensure a longer lifespan and maintain the performance of this practical tool in the household.

Offering fast and effective results, and practical design features such as an extra-large water storage tank with a large opening and sideways opening for more convenient filling and emptying, Philips as a global leader in irons remains committed to offering customers innovative and efficient solutions to meet their garment care needs.

After the program, we spotted Ryuji Shiomitsu doing small talks with the guests and models. Nice outfit, dear :) He styled the models for this fashion show.

And of course, outfit shot:

Wearing a Sparkle Shop Dress with Denim Vest, CMG animal print sling bag, accessories from Girl Shoppe and wedge booties.

Thanks Jeri Lim for inviting me once again. Yay, congrats on another successful event Philips and FIP!
