Last January 29, I was invited, together with celebrities, media and bloggers, to be one of the first to experience #hairrevolution and try their newest straightening service – L’oreal Professionnel Keratin Steam Bond at Bench Fix Salon, Glorietta.

They had a short presentation where they introduced the world’s 1st heat and high pressure steam iron that treats hair while smoothing it – the Steampod.

Steampod is the world’s first hair smoothing iron that delivers a continuous stream of pressurized steam from an in-built steam generator. This is in partnership with Rowenta, the world leader in household appliances and inventor of steam iron.

The first service is Keratin Steam Care Service which gives an anti-frizz smoothing effect that can last up to 3 days, if used for normal to slightly sensitive hair. But with continuous use with X-tenso Care, hair fibre is reconstructed from the inside out, preventing it from breakage and dryness.
The other one is Keratin Steam bond service, which I tried. It is the first steam smoothing service with the ultimate repair of Pro-Keratin found in X-TENSO CARE. I was given two choices depending on the permanent look I want to achieve – Ultimate Straight or Natural Straight Smoothing. I was aiming for Natural Straight, please see next photos on how it went.
After shampooing, my hair was blow dried and sprayed with L’oreal Xtenso Care Pre Treatment for protection. Then, the stylist applied L’oreal Xtenso Moisturist Smoothing Cream all over my hair.
While waiting, let’s check seatmate Erika and her stylist straightening her hair for her Steam Care service.
After that, my hair was washed, rinsed and blow dried again. Then, my hair was straightened using the Steampod.
Like the usual rebonding, this process did not end here. A cream was applied on my hair for the straight and smooth look to lock in.
After 30 minutes, the cream was rinsed and hair was blow dried for the last time. The process lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes. Totally worth it!
Plus, I got Steampod hair care products for full maintenance. Loreal X-tenso Care Shampoo and Masque contains incell that strengthens, pro-keratin that reconstructs hair and Nutri cationic agents that gives ultimate nutrition.
These products can be used at home to sustain hair that looks shiny, nourished and protected after straightening.
