Granny Christmas

Granny feels lately. I’ve been thinking too much the past few weeks about work so I spent a little time with my dolls lately as a therapy. Today, I am with Jesse. My first ever porcelain doll.

I received Jesse as a Christmas present from my ninang when I was 7 or 8 years old. My mom would usually keep her in the cabinet so I won’t break her but there were times that I would let her out so she could join me and my friends in our bahay-bahayan games. One day, my friend accidentally pushed the chair where Jesse was sitting and sadly, she broke her leg. My brother fixed her but the cracks were still visible. After that incident, I never played with her again to avoid accidents.

Ten years later, after college graduation, I decided to buy more dolls to start my own collection. Since then, she started meeting new friends. We never play bahay-bahayan anymore but I am glad I can bring her out now and even join me in my ootds!

On the photo above, you’d notice the crack on her right leg. The sock and shoes was a great help in covering it up. There was no professional restoration done. In fact, I don’t want anyone to touch her as restoring her leg means erasing the memories we had when we were still young.

  1. So she was your first porcelain doll po pala, Hi Jesse! cute niya po! nakita ko nga po cracked leg niya po, buti nga po di naputol. Amazing that you can kept her and cherished her throughout these years Ma’am Carizza kahit adult ka na po and super busy mo po. Since you’re collecting dolls naman and you love what you do, tlga namang bibigay ka po ng oras for your own happiness and it’s a therapy pala for you.. 🙂 I like your top and skirt po, kung ako magsusuot niyan di bagay pero sau po bagay 😀

Aww poor Jesse 🙁 anyway, tama po ung decision mo madam na wag iparestoration ung legs nya. Ang scar kase part na ng memories nyu yan ung nga pinagdaanan nyong magkasamang dalawa. Glad she’s okay pa rin despite what happened back then. Look at her, nakakapagselfie pa sya with you 🙂 Hanga ako sayo madam kung paano mo ingatan ung mga bagay na gusto mo talaga. Ako kse nung bata ako, mahilig din ako mangolekta ng mga manika. Pero Barbie naman. Pero ngayun ung mga Barbie ko na yon, wala na kundi putol ung braso, putol ung legs. Ngayon, para sa akin Dolls made to be loved and to be cherished forever. Not to be broken. 💖

So cute Jesse! Mukhang sobrang alaga, kasi she looks like as if she was just taken out from the box. Ang crisp pa color nya and her hair is well combed.. 🙂
