Darkest Night Premiere

Last Tuesday, me and my sister were invited to Teatrino Greenhills to catch the international film premiere director’s cut of  the movie – Darkest Night.  It’s a psychological horror thriller that features an ensemble of American and Filipino actors.

The horror flick is topbilled by American actor DJ Perry, whose film credits include: The 8th Plague (2006), Ghost Town: The Movie (2007), G.P.S (2007), and many other popular American horror films.

Darkest Night , written and produced by Russ Williams (a long-time resident of Malaysia), is directed by Filipino filmmaker Noel Tan— best known for his early documentary work with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

The film combines eastern and western spiritual traditions to come up with an original recipe for suspense and terror. The four lead stars of the film are: DJ Perry, Anne Gauthier, Issa Litton, and Nic Campos.

Admission to the premiere was free to all. There was a donation box by the entrance door and encouraged the people to give at least P100 per person (well, much less than what you would pay for a normal film) however, the donation  is totally optional.

My sister’s long lost friend was one of the cast on the featured movie. The show lasted for 2 and a half hours – which surprised me but after the movie, they said it was the director’s cut and they still have to remove some parts and make some polishes. Great job guys and more power!
