Big Sister’s Birthday at Nomama

Saturday lunch out! It was Big Sister’s birthday last Saturday – I will not reveal her age anymore. XD We had a small celebration at Nomama.
Nomama is a modern Japanese Artisan Ramen. I love the minimalist interiors and the bodega-inspired ambiance. Reminds me of MUJI because of its contemporary Japanese aesthetic. I love the open kitchen where you could see the chefs prepared your food. The place was really peaceful and quiet.
Their menu on a porcelain case was pretty unique too. I just wish they include photos, since most of the first timers like us relies on yummy food photography.
We had to try the house specialty Nomama Ramen for P295, which contains house pork stock, special miso-sesame blend, chashu (seasoned pork with Japanese spices), and tamago (egg). It was the best ramen I’ve ever encountered I swear.
Next is Seafood Teppan with Miso Ponzu that costs P420. It has fresh snapper fillet, prawns, squid, grilled onions, and chive teppan, and ponzu butter. Quite expensive for a dish that’s good for one but as we tasted it, I could say, it’s the most heavenly seafood dish I’ve ever had. We love the fresh “lasang dagat”  taste of it and the ponzu (citrus based sauce) mix made it an amazing dish.
We added Sticky Tori Karaage with Orange Miso and Young Garlic to our orders. It has a sweet and sour sauce which isn’t really my type but the succulent chicken nuggets was softly cooked that I can’t stop myself from eating it!
And the winning dessert – Apple Gyoza with Condiments for P275! It an apple and rum raisin stuffed gyoza (think turon), crisp, with miso salted caramel and yoghurt foam. It was really interesting, you have to try it!
I really wanna try more from Nomama but I have to go already and meet with my friends for merienda too. So I was forced to save space in my tummy and leave the good place
It was a bit pricey and the place was hard to find but everything is definitely worth it! It was a perfect place to have a good meal with family and friends. Highly recommended! Will definitely go back soon ๐Ÿ™‚
Happy birthday to my Big Sister!
