Sumosam Grand Opening at Gateway

Japanese culture has a big influence in my life, I’ve been exposed to Japanese music and movies since I was young (which is quite obvious with my fashion taste and style) and so, I was able to experience different Japanese dishes too.
Sumosam is one of my most favorite Japanese restaurants here in Manila. Last week I got an invite to Sumosam’s Grand Opening at Gateway Mall last May 28, 2012. Happy indeed!

Met new and familiar faces once again. ๐Ÿ™‚
For those who do not know, Sumosam is a casual dining restaurant known for the reinvention of traditional Japanese Cuisine with the added Western flair. It is co-owned by actor/chef Marvin Agustin besides from John and Yoko and Cafe Ten Titas.
Here’s Marvin Agustin on Maki demonstration, an opening custom in a Japanese restaurant.

That’s one long maki for everyone!
And of course, yummy food and overflowing drinks for the guests. Itadakimasu!
I’ve been to Johnny Chow, Mr. Kurosawa, John and Yoko. I’d say Marvin’s restaurants are really best in Japanese cuisine! Excellent dishes.
Since 2005, they have already opened more than 10 stores all-over the archipelago. Sumosam Gateway is their 11th branch and they’re currently planning for expansion soon here and abroad.
Thank you so much Sumosam Team for the invite. Congratulations on the successful grand opening! More branches to come!
