Adidas Originals Launches “Unite All Originals” Campaign

Even before Jesse Owens wore Adi Dassler’s spikes in the ‘30s, technical and material developments have been at the core of adidas’ running shoe DNA.

But innovations such as the ZX heel counter and the Torsion bar cut-out had as much impact on street style as they did on the track, especially in the ‘90s when London’s rude-boys’ passion for bright, colour-blocked runners was exported globally. There are echoes of that era throughout the adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2013 collection, with bright neon and block colours showing up across iconic silhouettes such as the ZX500 and ZX750.

Importantly, the Torsion Allegra makes its first appearance in 20 years, joining other ‘90s mould-breakers such as the Phantom and the Tech Super. Running influences are also spotted on accessories and apparel such as the Colorado windbreaker, kept modern with updated fit and subtle materials.
