The Museum Foundation of the Philippines (MFPI) recently launched the first-ever recognition program from the private sector that exclusively honors excellence in museum practice in the Philippines – ANG MUSEO.
So happy to reunite with my blogger friends during this round table event. Hello Ruth and Marj!

Since 2014, Eton and I of Siamese have worked closely with MFPI and have seen firsthand the many projects they have led in promoting the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage. Two of my favorites are Art in the Park and MaArte Fair! Now, I am so excited for the new program called Ang Museo, which they are launching today, March 15.
This is open to all museums in the Philippines, public or private, including those run by LGUs, educational institutions, and heritage organizations. Museum administrators, curators, educators, and other museum professionals are also welcome to apply. There is a standard entry fee of P3,000 for all categories. This will serve as a commitment fee and help with the administration costs of the nomination and evaluation process. The deadline for submissions is May 15.

We also got a sneak peek of the trophy design! It was inspired by Monreal Stone with Baybayin carved on it. The form evokes an archaeological fragment. Something discovered, preserved, and passed forward through time.
The inaugural Ang Museo Awards will be held this October. During the press launch, it was announced that the venue will be at The Tree of Life at the National Museum of Natural History. Looking forward to this!
