Yesterday, sister was watching TV and we came across this funny anime dubbed in cute voices of Chinese at CTV channel. We can’t fully understand Mandarin but the animation really made us laugh so hard.
I had a hard time searching for the title of this anime over the internet since the language is Mandarin and the title text is in Kanji (Japanese)! All we understood was MAMA. Then I googled “funny anime mother with two kids” and there! I found it! The title was Kaasan: Mom’s Life.
Kaasan means mother but in Japan, children call their moms with o at the beginning. So, it goes Okaasan. I really love this cartoon since the family members are really funny. They even had a Filipina mom character at the Nursery school XD The level was similar to Shin Chan and Chibi Maruko Chan, which are also my favorites.
Well I guess, one of their cartoonist is a Filipino cause they feature Filipino culture in some episodes. This anime depicts the real life story of a mother, who is struggling to raise her two children named Fumi and Bunji, while working as a Manga artist at the same time. The dad in the story is an adventurous photographer but he is a drunkard, and always drink alcohol when at home.
Fumi and Bunji are really funny children! They usually doodle on furniture and walls. The characters’ comical but honest and thoughtful tone will surely be appreciated by a wide range of audiences. Watch all episodes at Crunchyroll~
