Me, sister, and boyfriend watched The Little Mermaid play at the Meralco theater last Nov 19, 2011. Atlantis Productions did a great job of Disney’s stage adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The production launched the musical theater debuts of mainstream recording and concert artists Rachelle Ann Go, as the little mermaid, and Erik Santos, as Ariel’s one true love, Prince Eric.
The original version of Part of Your World was truly amazing and classical but Rachelle Ann Go’s version is also beautiful and powerful for a musical play which thrilled the audience. Erik’s English diction was not so good and was not able to bring out the best on the dialogues (well, I guess Christian Bautista – who was also there watching – perfectly fits the Prince title) but we are pretty amazed of his incredible voice.
The production was brilliant and for sure expensive – as they had a full-scale ship with sailors on board, beautiful and colorful underwater costumes, fabulous bedroom and bathroom sets, and animal costumes as well. Kids watching are all entertained and danced to the show! Truly word class!

The Little Mermaid (The Broadway Musical) will be showing until December 11 so don’t forget to bring your little Princesses and Princes with you and be part of the world under the sea where magic lives!
