It’s rainy season once again and a typhoon just hit the country. The howling winds and lashing rain of Typhoon Glenda was really scary that some offices and schools already declared suspension. We all stayed the whole day at home. With our pets, safe and dry. There were no casualties however, there was no electricity (probably a preventive measure) so I ended up doing household chores, some body exercises and a lot of selfies. In some areas, glass windows broke and even roofs flew off. It’s really sad and scary. I just can’t imagine what would happen when future typhoons arrive. How are you guys in your area? I hope you’re all doing fine.
As for cellphone signals, Globe‘s mobile services in affected areas has already been restored through the company’s efforts to expedite the recovery process. This has been confirmed by Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications, Yoly Crisanto.
In her recent statement, she said, “The power situation remains to be a challenge in areas severely affected by the typhoon and we are providing additional generation sets to mitigate power outage. Additional technical teams from other regions unaffected by the typhoon have also been deployed to aid local teams. We wish to assure our customers that the company continues to expedite the recovery process in affected sites.”
To help residents in areas severely affected by the typhoon, the telecommunications provider is now providing more Libreng Tawag stations and charging sites as well in various locations such as in Daet Elevated Town Plaza in Daet, Camarines Norte.
Aside from that, Globe employee volunteers have committed to assist the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Resource Operations Center (DSWD-NROC) in repacking operations. Good job Globe!
Top and skirt from Promod // Accessories from Claire’s // Shoes from Dr. Kong
Outfit for today is a little chic yet dark. No laces and pastels for now. I opted for darker colors that suited the weather. Frequent rain gives us a lot of reasons to hate dressing up and most of the time, we tend to wear quick-fix lazy jeans and sneakers. It’s understandable but don’t let this kind of weather dampen your style spirit. I mean, it’s just July and if you continue to dress up lazily until September, it’ll be three boring and uninspiring months. Can you imagine that?
Gem-ed up with some dainty accessories. They look heavy but they’re absolutely perfect that I wear them almost everyday! As long as you don’t wear big neck pieces or earrings, they’d look good on any outfit.
My flats from Dr. Kong are comfy and they go with practically any clothing that I usually wear. It’s not the best footwear if ever I get drenched but it’s a pair that I can easily remove whenever my feet wants to take a break.
It can definitely be tough to dress for a rainy day because there are so many things to consider like the thickness of the fabric and its material. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a trench coat–fur-scarf-and-booties outfit. You just have to think how to stay dry and comfortable all the time without sacrificing style.
What do you usually wear on rainy days? Do you dress up in dark colors too or do you make an effort to brighten up the day with your outfit? Share your thoughts below. 🙂
