Globe community, local celebrities support StarServe

It’s Christmas yet I’ve been hearing a lot of bad news on TV so I thought it would be good to share something positive. It’s the season of love and giving and the Globe Community members and local celebrities proved it as they participated in a night of giving back as the country’s leading telecommunications network partnered with Digicon Events Management for this year’s StarServe, which was held recently at Outback Steakhouse in Libis, Quezon City.

Now on its 5th year, StarServe is a charity event where local celebrities serve food and drinks to event attendees. Proceeds of the charity event went to the kids of Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas, an organization that provides care and guidance to orphaned and abandoned children. Oh, I love charity events. I really hope I could participate in organizations like this again soon.

Local celebrities who participated as “StarServers” include Chef JP Anglo of ABS-CBN’s Master Chef Pinoy Edition, former child star and now blogger/actor and one of Globe Community’s pioneer members Chuckie Dreyfus, RX 93.1’s Chico Garcia and Gino Quillamor, TV host Franco Mabanta, actor and podcast host Alfonso Martinez, TV host and sports enthusiast Marc Nelson, singer Sabrina Orial, ABS-CBN’s Perkins Twins (Jesse and Christian), acoustic singer Princess Velasco, and chef/entrepreneur Chef Nino Logarta. The event was hosted by TV personality JC Cuadrado.

Globe Community Manager Glenn Ong together with Globe Community team members Eldridge Tan and Jerome Patalud, and Globe Customer Experience Executives Chris Lipman and Miggy Dela Cruz were also present.

Globe co-presented the event by bringing Globe Community members to dine in and to donate any amount via GCash. StarServe also welcomed walk-in guests who contributed Php1, 000 to join the event-for-a-cause and to experience being served by celebrities.

This season is a perfect time to share our blessings and give back to the community, and we’re glad to be doing it with celebrities who willingly gave their time to be of service to others – the same objective as Globe Community. We hope that through this simple activity, we’re able to provide assistance to the Damas kids as well as help our brothers and sisters who were greatly affected by the recent super typhoon in the Visayas region,” said Glenn Ong, Globe Community Manager.

Globe Community (http://community.globe.com.ph) was put together to provide subscribers with an online venue to exchange ideas, interact, and to allow its members to give help and assistance to one another. Globe Community is the first of its kind in the Philippines.
