Adopt A Pet Event by CARA

Went to Greenbelt last week with Eton to witness Adopt a Pet Event by CARA Welfare Philippines. I myself have 3 rescued cats. I thought it was easy to adopt a pet but I was wrong! As they grow up, they consume more and more food, more vitamins and supplements, and I have to be financially ready for emergency cases. Although I cannot afford to adopt a new furry addition to our family right now, it’s still lovely to see people giving stray cats and dogs a chance and a home.

I arrived too early at the Fashion Walk in Greenbelt 5, Makati. There were no pets for adoption yet so I just took photos around while waiting for the stars of the event.
They have souvenir shirts, mugs, fans, pins, and a lot more for sale to serve as fund-raiser as well as an awareness campaign.
I really love this “Same dog, different owner” campaign, showing just two photos yet so inspiring. In fact, I have posted my own version in my Instagram few days ago.
Hmmm.. Looks like Eton is very much interested in pet adoption. I bet he’s this-close to filling up the adoption form! Haha!

And finally, the cats had arrived! Kids were all excited to meet them!
Visitors started to line up and meet the cats for adoption.
Some of them were stressed and just sat at one corner of the cage…
Some needed a hug from their sibling as they were too scared of the people staring at them…
Others preferred to look around to check if everything is in order…
And some cats were just relaxed and simply didn’t care.
CARA encourages the practice of spay and neuter among cats and dogs to reduce the number of homeless pets and to improve their health as well. If you are interested, they actually hold low-cost spay and neuter services occasionally for families who need financial assistance on this medical procedure. Follow them on Facebook for schedule and announcements.
Missed this event? They will launch another Adopt A Pet event in a few months or if you simply cannot wait, you can browse their online Adoption Gallery and fill up the adoption form.

Hours later, the dogs for adoption had arrived. They were walked by several volunteers to entertain visitors and interact with potential adoptees. They were too cute with their Adopt Me bandanas tied on them.
This guy looks so makulit and funny. I like him!
If you are not ready to adopt yet, you can also help them by donating, sponsoring, or joining the team as a volunteer. During the event, I was able to fill up the volunteer form for CARA’s rescued canines and felines. I am ready to help in any way possible!

If you’re looking for a new furry addition to your family, consider adopting a pet. CARA holds regular adoption events at Bonifacio High Street (Hobbes & Landes), Taguig and Greenbelt 5 (Ayala Malls), Makati to help adopt out rescued animals. 6. Thank you. Yes, especially for kittens. I gave Cose milk to my 1-week old kitten on his first day at home. I was shocked when the vet told me that the kitten had diarrhea because of the milk and it could have killed my baby! I immediately switched to Lactol.
