Etude House Play 101 Pencil Review

Eyes are known as the windows to the soul. They portray our thoughts and emotions that’s why whenever I do my own makeup, I always concentrate on my eyes. Aside from the usual mascara and eyeliner that I use (yes, I don’t normally use eyeshadow), I have found new stuff to play with which can improve my eye makeup.
What’s on my table?
Etude House Play 101 Pencils
(Nos. 4, 18, 21, 25, 30, 35)

The pencil comes in a cute packaging with the shade number on top of it. Available in 50 shades!
Would you believe these pencils can create different makeup looks? These are gel-type pencils that come with vivid colors and various textures for easy and fun makeup play. They vary from matte, creamy, glossy to shimmery shades which can be used on brows, eyes, cheeks or lips!

The pencils themselves are made of plastic with a protective cap on one side and surprisingly, a sharpener on the other side (the colored side). How convenient!

Directions:
Twist to dispense certain amount and use on desired area. Close cap after use. When using sharpener, insert lead and sharpen while turning slowly.

The texture is very creamy so it is easy to blend even when using a brush and it glides smoothly on my skin.

What I like:
Creamy Texture
Pigmented Color
Easy to Blend
Long Lasting
Auto-Pencil (No Need to Sharpen)
Has its own sharpener if you want to keep the tip precise

What I don’t like:
Not for everyday use
It’s something I would only use for special events, photoshoots or makeup play.

On the photo below, I used shade no. 4 and no. 30. I think these two shades blend well together and can be worn even on normal days when applied lightly. Also, Play 101 no.4 can be used to make eyes pop and look bigger.

These pencils are perfect for those who love to experiment and have fun with makeup. It’s actually easier to use than an eyeshadow. I’d definitely use the other shades soon to create more makeup looks!

  1. this is aweeeesome! Been seeing a lot of reviews about this certain product and I'm really glad that they vary from matte, creamy, glossy to shimmery shades which can be used on brows, eyes, cheeks or lips. I thought they were just eye liners/definers, this is awesome for on-the-go gals who can't manage to bring their whole makeup stash, I so wanna try this!

  2. try the normal shades like blue, pink, and white!
