Plaid Gems

I am still alive! So many things to finish this month but I will bend over backwards for the love of Siamese. Just a little request though, somebody lift my eyebags please. Haha. Before these machine gun projects, we were able to take a break naman from work.

Solved my #donyaproblems with this gorgeous fan from Monchet y Compania. They’d be joining this year’s MaARTe Artisan Fair at Rockwell Tent from August 29-31. Don’t miss it! If you’re maARTe just like me, you definitely need this!

I just realized I’ve been using the same mobile number for almost 8 years already. Thanks Pat for giving me a Globe sim card as a birthday gift. I remember, she gave it when we were still in college so we could contact each other easily. It was precious but one day I lost it (my phone actually) at the mall when my attention was drawn to porcelain dolls. I could have bought a new sim but nooo way. I need it as all my business contacts knew that number and my GCash money was all in there. So I reported the incident to Globe right away and insisted for a new sim with the same number. At that time, Globe didn’t require me to present an affidavit of loss – they gave me a new sim card with the same number right away!

I’ve never had any major problems with Globe and I am happy with their service. Now that Globe is continuing their efforts in strengthening their network, I am not switching to another network definitely. According to Robert Tan, Globe Chief Technical Adviser, “The redundancy initiative involved installation of multiple equipment, per core site, to establish traffic balancing and hardware redundancy, thus ensuring minimal service disruption in the event of an equipment failure.”
In a bid to further advance its network resiliency, Globe also stepped up the design of company infrastructure in typhoon-stricken areas by introducing the use of an innovative tower solution that accelerate service restoration. I live in Manila, but my friends in the provinces will probably benefit from this especially during the hard times like Yolanda. They are also expanding the deployment of cellular on wheels and lego solution to enable mobile services in typhoon-prone areas. Cell on wheels are mobile cell sites that provide expanded cellular network coverage and capacity during special events or during times of emergencies.
So far, such initiative delivered the country’s most modernized telecommunications infrastructure in the Philippines and enabled Globe to become the first telecommunications company in the Philippines to achieve 100% 3G coverage for its entire network! The entire Globe network would also be fully equipped with the more advanced 4G HSPA+ technology, which would further boost network capacity and performance, by September.
Globe is the first telecommunications
provider in the Philippines to secure an enterprise-wide certification of
compliance for business continuity, specifically for meeting the standards set
under ISO 22301:2012. The certification attests to the company’s readiness to
provide delivery of voice, SMS, data products, internet and data center related
activities, through its mobile and fixed line networks to its domestic and
international customers even during emergencies. The certificate was issued by
the British Standards Institute and approved by the United Kingdom
Accreditation Services.  Compliance with
ISO 22301:2012 ensures plans are in place to reduce impact and frequency of
business disruptions.

been using globe since I was in hs, until now, and same goes for my family. One thing though, when it comes to the area in San Pedro Laguna/ Pacita where my family resides now, signal is non existent. Like we had to go up to our 2nd floor balcony just to get proper signal and proper calls. I hope they adress the issue, cause they have the best prepaid plans.. and I don't really wanna change my number cause it's been so long…

  2. I think they're now working on provincial signal and will be better by September. It really varies from one place to another but so far, Globe is still the best for me in terms of overall service!
