Staycation at Oakwood Premier Manila

Allow this blogger, who usually writes about beauty and fashion, to take a break and have a staycation once in a while. It was a perfect timing as one of the events I attended happened in a mall nearby so I didn’t have to worry about commuting and the traffic. A day after, I had a meeting at Tektite (business as usual) and realized, “I should live here.”
Before I start, I just want to say that this is not a paid review. I am just sharing my experience at Oakwood since it’s one of my favorite places in the Metro.

One-Bedroom Deluxe is already huge for 2 pax but I find their corner room bigger than this. Or is it just me? We requested to be moved to a corner room so we could compare but sad to say our request was not honored as all corner rooms were already occupied. Well, it’s totally fine with me. Our room is still beautiful!
Upon entering, the first thing you’d see is the kitchen area fully equipped with modern home appliances.
Coffee maker, electronic kettle, and kitchen utensils. You no longer have to call hotel attendants since everything you’d need is already in your room.
A dishwasher inside a hotel room is one thing that truly impressed me.
There’s also a microwave oven, refrigerator, cooktop and exhaust. If I wasn’t busy that time, I would have cooked pasta there!
How about a washing machine with dryer? That one really impressed me more! As if it was my first time in Oakwood haha.
The dining area is the most abused part of the hotel. It’s not surprising since it’s in the middle of living room, kitchen, and bedroom. At the back of the dining table is a mini cupboard where you could store some of your things like snacks, snnacks, and snnnacks.
You can also view the TV at the living room from there so you could watch your favorite programs while eating. Or while applying your favorite nail polish just like what I did. Hehe.
Another favorite and abused spot is the club chair with ottoman beside the sofa. It can pass as a comfy bed at night if you want to stay in the living room. 🙂
I usually bring work-related stuff with me when I stay in hotels. Better ready! Good thing, Oakwood has a work station in two corners of the room. One is beside the TV at the living room and the other one is in the bedroom.
The one in the bedroom is actually a vanity area but it’s a perfect spot for work as well. If you know me well, I have this habit of turning on my laptop and check email as I rise from my bed.
But who would like to work when you have this king size bed? With ottoman bench, soft pillows, and cozy ambiance, you’d forget the busy outside world for sure.
There’s also a mini hallway with life sized mirror on the side which is actually a slide cover for the closet. It makes the room sleek and look wider.

The bathroom is nice but I find the corner room’s bathroom better as it has a large window in one corner. But still great!

I hope my photos gave justice to the room. I didn’t realized I brought a macro lens with me instead of a wide angled one. You can compared with the room I got few months ago here:
Aside from a relaxing staycation, I am also happy to share that Globe has launched the pre-registration page for users who want to avail of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus! Their pre-registration page allows new and existing customers to choose what iPhone they want to get under Globe and select the color and capacity.
