A Day at Barkin’ Blends

Last weekend, me and Eton visited Barkin’ Blends Dog Cafe after work. Yes, we now have a dog cafe here in Manila. It is located in Loyola Heights, near Mcdo. This cafe is divided into two – a human zone and a dog zone. In the Human Zone, you get to enjoy dog-shaped cupcakes, sandwiches, lollipops, coffee and tea – just like a usual cafe.

In the Dog Zone, your sealed drink worth P180 will serve as your entrance fee. There are rules to abide before entering the Dog Zone. If you’ve been to a dog cafe before, then more or less you already know the rules.

If you’re new to this kind of setup, these tips might help you:
1. Sanitize your hands before entering
2. Put things in the locker and wear the provided slippers
3. Do not disturb sleeping dogs
4. Don’t feed
5. Don’t play rough with them

Most of their slippers already look like this. LOL

I think they should add a rule about carrying the dogs. Some just don’t know how to carry them properly so it would be best if they would just not allow any guest to carry them. Some, mostly kids, handle the dogs incorrectly. Anyway, their staff are always there to attend to the dogs’ needs and they clean up doggy waste quickly.

Most of the dogs are very active. They would run, jump around, lick each other or sometimes, disturb the innocent sleeping dogs.

I just wanted a picture but this little one slept on my lap!

So cute!

Then he carried Bonnie, the smallest one in the cafe!

At this point, I wanted to hug Booster (the white fluffy one in front of me) and the other Barkin’ Buddies but I remained on that sitting position for a couple of minutes for Milo!

There was one little buddy who played with my dress bow! Kulit! Thanks to the girl at my back for helping me out. 🙂

I waited patiently and then finally, he moved on the floor. I got a chance to sit beside Chewy and Robin. Did I just sit on the floor the whole time? Haha.

We look so adorable noh? But this is what really happened:

Ang gulo!

I think this dog cafe is a good place to release stress and get a chance to pet a dog if you don’t have one just like me. My last dog caught a distemper virus and the trauma is still in me so I can’t get a new one yet. Little by little, this dog cafe helped me to heal and move on. And it’s a chance for me to cuddle a dog once again.

Thanks mbAL for granting my request. 🙂
